This report identifies any IRS refund turnover due to trustees.
Accessing the Report
From the Trustee Suite Main Menu toolbar, select ‘Reports’, click on the ‘Case’ tab and select ‘IRS Refund Turnover Report’ from the Print Reports screen to invoke the Parameters for IRS Refund Turnover Report screen (shown below).
Generating the Report
From the Parameters for IRS Refund Turnover Report screen, populate the following fields:
- Trustee: Select the Trustee number or ‘-All-‘.
- Case: Select the Case number via the drop-down box.
- Form #: Select the applicable form number (default is 1040).
- Tax Year: Select the applicable tax year and select the ‘Estimate Flag’ checkbox, if applicable.
- Refund Amount: Enter the applicable refund amount in the text field.
- Spouse Selection: Select from the three drop-down menu options.
- Spouse Name: If there is a spouse involved, this field becomes functional.
- Spouse SSN: If there is a spouse involved, this field becomes functional.
- Community Property State: Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ via the drop-down list.
- Percentage of Income from Debtor(s): Enter a value in the text field, if applicable.
- Show TIN/SSN: Select this checkbox if you wish to have the TIN/SSN displayed in your report.
- Court Location: Enter the appropriate court location.
- Report File: Select the appropriate option from the drop-down list or use the Ellipsis button, , to the right if you would like to select and upload a file from your computer.
Printing the Report
From the Parameters for IRS Refund Turnover Report screen, select from the following options:
- View/Edit: Selecting this button enables you to view/edit before printing.
- Merge: A refund amount must be entered to make this button functional; select this button to invoke the ‘Application and Authorization for Internal Revenue Service Refund Turnover to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee Pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 542’.
- To PDF: This button prints the report to PDF and saves a copy to Document Management.
- Cancel: This button undoes any changes and cancels the print job.
- Save Defaults: This button sets the current field selections as the default each time this report is accessed.
